The Strellson spring/summer 2018 collection is based on the motto “New Horizon”. Inspired by foreign countries and cultures, Strellson takes us on a journey, blending exotic impressions with the typical Strellson style. The result is an innovative collection reflecting a new, casual lightness in a wonderful combination of colours, patterns and styles. Sports and formal wear are blended with exceptional flow to create powerful new images.
The central theme of lightness runs like a thread through the entire collection. The silhouette is accordingly relaxed, yet marked by contrasts.
The interplay of slim and loose-fit styles along with short styles creates deliberate juxtapositions for a sophisticated effect. Pride of place is given to the jacket, coat, and especially the trousers. Dominating the collection, these garments are more multifaceted than ever. Among the casuals, elements of military, utility and active wear lend a new three-dimensionality to the lightness of the styles.
In terms of material sensibility, the upcoming season has a new focus, with light poplins in cotton and wool, superlight nylons, ribs, seersucker, summer bouclés, knits and jersey fabrics mixed with stripes, checks, colour blocks and prints for a whole new level of expression. Vivid graphics and a consciously handcrafted look reflect the new elegance of the “imperfect perfect”. Finishings such as tumbling, mill-washing, garment washing and garment dyeing feature prominently this season.
The colour scheme has a new background of white, light stone, beige and urban grey shades, along with elementary, nature-inspired colours and pale pastels. Steel blue, light aqua, golden desert, lemon, olive, mint, coral and rose are characterised by a fine grey haze which gives them a uniquely light, cool and fresh quality. These contrast colours create distinctive accents within the clearly defined colour harmonies.
