A soft modernity runs through the dior fall-winter 2012-2013 collection. pure shapes are given a rounded femininity, playing with texture and tone to create a contemporary, luxurious silhouette. Dior’s masculine tailoring codes are mixed with a ballet femininity. Houndstooth is reworked with re-embroidered leather ribbon and paired with layered organzas and gazars.
Rothko smudged colours are presented in brushed mohairs and tweeds. Gentlemen’s tailoring fabrics in “faux noirs” tones are pieced with leather and satin-cuir. Severe draped cutting, integral to the dior jacket, is paired with a new longer length skirt, both pleated and semi-structured. eveningwear reworks the purity of mr.
Dior’s structural gowns, re-cut with sheer panelling, in a palette of blushed nudes and almost black, inky jewel tones. Silk knitwear is worn with striking, full evening skirts while bold embellishment takes the form of oversized crystal motifs and molten sequin textures.
