BOSS Selection Menswear, the luxury line in the HUGO BOSS brand world, makes a strong statement for the Fall/Winter 2011 season. A new logo and independent brand image reinforce the reputation of BOSS Selection as a synonym for impeccably tailored men's fashions and sportswear.
The new logo merges the initials B and S in one brilliantly executed letter. Being itself the quintessence of elegant understatement, the logo is subtly incorporated in the collection – for instance as a metal icon on an undercollar or as a repeat print on a lining.
Inspiration for the 2011 Fall/Winter Collection was drawn from the striking style of the underworld dandy. The headline theme is best captured in extravagant pieces, such as the double-breasted tailored camel-hair coat with its fur collar, or luxurious looks like the three-piece pinstripe in virgin wool.
All of the suits feature hand-finished lapels, working buttons on the cuffs and premium lining fabrics. The jackets and blazers come in traditional shapes, but the rounded shoulders, narrow arms and high lapels lend the look a distinctly modern silhouette. The season's choices also include a blazer with a peak lapel and classic double-breasted styles.
The eveningwear presents exclusive velvet dinner jackets in dark brown or blue, with the perfect shoes to match.
The sportswear segment of BOSS Selection has been further extended. A quilted nylon down jacket in a range of metallic colors comes with its very own backpack bag. Another highlight: the limited Gold Edition denims crafted with gold-plated thread.
This season BOSS Selection is premiering yangir – a Siberian ibex fiber that is finer than cashmere and is used, for instance, in sumptuous blazer. The finest fabrics from Italian mills dominate in the tailored looks, including rich wools, cashmere/wool and cashmere/silk blends.
Muted color stories and tone-in-tone combinations set the stage this winter. The palette revolves around black, nuanced browns, beige and off-white, and extends to a deep shade of blue.
In the accessories, fur-lined chapkas, an exquisite cable-knit cashmere scarf and a weekender in genuine buckskin round out the look of casual elegance. Ideal touches that complete the underworld outfit: a classic newsboy cap or buttery lambskin gloves.
