In June 2017, Marianne Dreuilhe took over at the helm of the IKKS Women creative team. As she dove into the brand’s archives, one thing became clear to her: the inexhaustible Military heritage. This led to the birth of «Be your own icon»: a capsule collection of a dozen reworked It-pieces with the brand’s DNA, from a reinvented army wardrobe. The collection then headed for London and its famous boroughs, fashion icons and hip locations.
First stop: Brick Lane. A mix of denim and Prince of Wales check to contrast with the London floral print.
The mood changes as we head for Glastonbury and its legendary festival! The army parka is worn over camouflage dresses, with a touch of feminine lace. The vintage spirit is also present, with a cashmere print, colourful “happy folks” sweatshirts and trousseau blouses.
Next station: Camden Town, for an army versus Folk theme, dominated by autumn colours. The collection then becomes more rock and more sensual. The It-woman swears by her slim-fit jeans, plaid shirt and carbonised jersey T-shirt.
Last stop: Sport twist or sportswear reinvented with feminine details. The style is comfy, the look is on-trend and the fabrics are technical.
